Alfred 'Hootie' Stubbs

Alfred "Hootie" Stubbs, 75, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, in Oklahoma City after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on September 27, 1946, in Mountain View, OK, to Loyd and Donie (Kelso) Stubbs. Hootie lived all of his life in Mountain View. After graduation from Oney High School, he went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

He married Linda Ray Holland in April of 1967. From this union two daughters were born, Sheila and Shelli. Hootie was a very proud Daddy that loved his girls and grandchildren more than life itself, and he proved it every day. His other passion in life was cars. He spent his entire life buying, selling, restoring and working on cars with his friends. He could often be seen sporting them around town or in parades. He was active in the Oklahoma Pitch Association for over 30 years. He was a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

Hootie loved and enjoyed life and spending time with his family including his time and fellowship with his many friends. His daily routine included visiting Kevin Dirickson, Doyle Hancock and the Mountain View Senior Citizens Center. He spoke highly of them all and they meant the world to him.

He is survived by two daughters: Sheila Coontz and husband, Scott, of Edmond, OK; Shelli Cooperrider and husband, Kyle, of Anthony, KS; and grandchildren: and Travis Schaithman, Garber, OK, Kourtni and Eric Berryman, Haysville, KS, Kacie and Reid LeGrand, Edmond, OK, Ryan Coontz, Edmond, OK, Mackenna and Cole Hammock, Enid, OK, Kelson, Halli and Hayden Starks, Anthony, KS, And Cody Coontz, Stillwater, OK; Brandon Coontz, Edmond, OK; Kylee Cooperrider, Anthony, KS; great-grandchildren, Deklon and Eliza Berryman, Haysville, KS, Mack and McCoy Schaithman, Garber, OK, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Loyd and Donie Stubbs; brothers, Bill Stubbs, Loyd Stubbs, G.W. "Dub" Stubbs and his sister, Carolyn Frazier.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, ay First Baptist Church, Mountain View, OK. Troy Thompson and Rusty Ledford officiated. Burial followed in the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, OK.

The family request that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to the Mountain View Senior Citizens Center in his honor.

Services were under the direction of Fort Cobb Funeral Home, Fort Cobb, OK.
