Carnegie town-wide garage sale set for Sat.

Long John Silver would be in a pirates' version of Heaven this weekend if he happen to be in southwestern Caddo County. That's because there will be no shortage of treasures to be found.

The Carnegie Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual town-wide garage sale event this Saturday, June 4. Sales will be held throughout the community.

The Carnegie town-wide garage sale has become a staple event for the chamber since its inception about 10 years ago. The event, which is held the first Saturday in June, has helped attract treasure seekers from throughout the area to the community.

"The chamber feels the annual town-wide yard sale event is a great opportunity to bring some fun for treasure hunters of all ages to the community," said Chamber President Randy Turney. "We hope that everyone has a fun time finding a terrific deal or cleaning out the perfect spot for something new."

Turney said, the Goodwill pick-up truck, unfortunately, will not be able to attend this year's event.

Local residents who are planning to hold yard/garage sales this weekend will be able to advertise their events in the newspaper, as well as on the chamber's Facebook page. Turney said sale hosts can add their sales to a post on the chamber's Facebook page.
