Wildcats' home football game canceled

The Carnegie Wildcats literally lost a game on their schedule without ever touching the field.

Carnegie Public School officials announced on Monday the team's scheduled game against Elmore City-Pernell has been canceled due to COVID-19 precautions. The game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Wildcat Stadium.

With the loss of the home date, Carnegie will now have only two home contests remaining on their 2021 schedule. The Wildcats are scheduled to host Minco on Sept. 24 and host Mangum on Oct. 29.
