Tommy Wells Jr., the son of Carnegie Herald publishers Tommy and Pattie Wells, smiles while being treated for a broken back and other injuries sustained in a Jan. 29, 2021 automobile accident. The 29-year-old former college athlete was paralyzed from the mid-chest down in the accident.
